From October 26-28, 2014, the PublicEye team headed to Orlando, Florida for the
IACP Annual Conference & Expo. IACP is the largest law enforcement show in the world and attracts over 10,000 professionals from over 90 countries.
At this year’s IACP, we unveiled PublicEye in the Cloud, freeing departments from “keeping the lights on” locally and allowing them to host in the Microsoft Azure Government Cloud. Our partners, Microsoft and Apple supported our booth and explained how departments can now mobilize without additional IT workload or server hardware costs.
In the past, public safety technology for responders revolved around the central dispatch center radioing information out or scouring through text menus & windows via in-car laptops.
PublicEye allows authorized phone or tablet users to view critical information from CAD/RMS, surveillance systems, social media, and other real-time databases anywhere, anytime. This visual “fusing” of information sources increases situational awareness, improves productivity, and mitigates risk.
PublicEye was very well represented at the show.
CDW showcased our solution as the premiere mobile client for public safety.
Segway had an iPad Mini mounted on their i2 Patroller showing how foot patrols now can access the same breadth of information as officers in the cruiser.
RamMounts had a wide display of tablet & phone mounting solutions and displayed PublicEye as a way departments can transition to mobile devices without changing their legacy software.
It wasn’t all work, of course. One of the highlights of the show is always the IACP Chief’s Party. This year was no exception – the entire Universal Theme Park, including Islands of Adventure, closed down at 6PM on Tuesday. IACP attendees, exhibitors, and family members were given free reign to the rides, attractions, and movie-themed concessions available. It was a blast!
