NOTE: As of February 2013, PolicePad and FireTab are now PublicEye®.
Apple and technology supplier CDW-G are organizing two events focused on the role of emerging technology in the public safety field. Zco Corporation and AirWatch will join Apple and CDW-G to discuss how to upgrade legacy systems with mobile solutions to keep police officers and firefighters connected at all times.
The two events are scheduled for Boston, MA and Reston, VA:
-
Wednesday, February 27 10am – 3pm Metro Meeting Center 101 Federal Street 4th Floor Boston, MA 02110 Register
-
Wednesday, March 6 10am – 3pm Apple Government Office 11921 Freedom Drive Suite 600 Reston, VA 20190 Register
At each seminar, Zco will present PolicePad and FireTab to the audience for approximately one hour, starting at 12:30. These software applications turn iPads, iPad minis, iPhones and Android devices into serious tools for first responders by providing intuitive fingertip access to information. Any police officer or firefighter in the field can use PolicePad and FireTab to access real-time data such as 911 calls, sex offenders, other persons of interest, hydrant locations, HazMats, building preplans and other information on maps and in lists.
“We’re proud to exhibit the capabilities of PolicePad and FireTab to department officials from around the Boston and Washington D.C. areas,” said Gary Mueller, Zco’s Vice President of Business Development.
The Lowell, MA Police Department will also have the opportunity to convey its own experience using PolicePad in the field. Lowell was the first municipality to deploy PolicePad and has been instrumental in its early development.
“Why would I want to put a computer in their car when they can have it in their hands?” said Lowell’s Management Information Systems Officer Craig Withycombe in an interview with the Lowell Sun. “If the car is sitting in a parking lot, the computer isn’t being used.”
